Free Knitting Pattern
Head circumference: 20" (51 cm)
Materials: Nature Spun Wool sport weight yarn 168m/50g - 2 balls.
Needles: 2 (2.75 mm) OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE
Gauge: 20 st = 4" (10 cm)
Patterns:
Two-Sided Stocking Stitch Rib:
Cast on even amount of stitches
1 k, slip 1 st knitwise with yarn in front
Turn, repeat the first row knitting slipped stitches and slipping stitches knitted in the previous row.
Reverse stocking stitch:
Row 1. purl
Row 2. knit
Repeat row 1 and 2.
Brim
Cast on 176 sts (including edge stitches).
Knit rib for 2" (5 cm) rows. In the last row add evenly 87 sts.
Top
Continue to knit reverse stocking stitch for 4" (10 cm).
Knit reverse stocking stitch for another 4" (10 cm) evenly decreasing stitches. Divide the stitches into 15 groups. Take off evenly 1 st from each group until 30 sts remain.
Cast off.
Finishing:
Join the back seam.
