Pattern Notes
Stockinette in rows:

Row 2: purl
Repeat 2 rows.
Stockinette in rounds: All rounds knit.
Garter stitch in rows: all rows knit
Garter stitch in rounds: knit the first round, purl the next round. Repeat 2 rounds
The selvedge/edge stitches are worked as follows: knit the first stitch knitwise and purl the last one.
Raglan increases: Increase for raglan by working yarn over (yo) on each side of indicated, marked, stitch in every right side (RS) row: yo, sm (slip marker), k1 (raglan st), yo. Thus the number of stitches in each RS row is increased by 8.
Button Band (bb) is worked in garter stitch on 3 stitches in the beginning and in the end of each row. In rows 3, 9, and 15, make button holes: knit all sts to the last 3: yo, k2tog, purl the last st. In the next row, knit all 3 stitches of the bb. Alternatively, you can choose not to make button holes and use small metal sew-on snaps instead of buttons.
Dress
The dress is worked top-down, back and forth with a button band on the back, then in the round. The dress is worked in stockinette st with raglan sleeves.
Yoke
With circular needles cast on 34 sts: 3 sts (selvedge and bb) – 2 sts (right back) - 1 st (the first raglan line, place a marker before this st) – 6 sts (right sleeve0 - 1 st (the second raglan line, place the second marker before this st) – 8 sts front – 1 st (the third raglan line, place the third marker before this st) – 6 sts (left sleeve) – 1 st (the forth raglan line, place the forth marker before this st) – 2 sts (left back) – 3 sts (bb and selvedge).

Row 4 (WS and all WS rows): k3, purl all sts to last 3, k2, p1
Repeat rows 3 and 4 three more times.
After row 3 = 42 sts
After row 5 = 50 sts
After row 7 = 58 sts
After row 9 = 66 sts

You can continue in rows to desired length with button bands to the hem, or change to dpn, join and continue to work in rounds.
In row 27, knit to last 3 sts, transfer the last 3 sts to a spare needle, position the needle underr the first 3 sts. Holding 2 needles in the left hand, insert the working (right) needle in the first st on the upper needle, then in the first st on the lower needle, knit both sts together. Repeat for the remaining 2 (2 and 2) stitches of the bb. In this way, you overlap the button bands and join the work into a round.
Work 18 rounds in stockinette – all rounds knit. Work 4 more rounds in garter stitch: 1 round purl, the next knit, the next purl, the next knit. Bind off.
Finishing
Weave in yarn ends, sew on buttons or snaps. Thread a ribbon through the eyelet row. Decorate the dress with beads or other embellishments.
