Free Knitting Scarf Pattern
The scarf is knit in the Fishermen's Rib stitch. The scarf is knit from sport weight yarn, but you can use heavier yarn as well. The scarf is reversible.
Skills Required/Techniques Used:
-Knit & purl, cast on & bind off

Size: Width 8” (20 cm)
Materials: Dale of Norway (affiliate link) (affiliate link) Falk Dalegarn sport weight yarn 106m (109 yds)/50g - 4 balls.
Needles: US #3 (3.25 mm) OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE
Gauge: 20 st = 4" (10 cm) in brioche st.
Abbreviations
k – knit
p – purl
sl1 – slip 1 (knitwise for the 1st stitch in a row).
k1 below - knit st in the row below: insert needle from front into the stitch in the row below, knit this stitch, drop the stitch above it .
RS - right side
WS - wrong side
Selvedge/edge stitches are worked as follows: slip the first st in a row and purl the last one.
Scarf
Even number of stitches.
Loosely cast on 34 sts
Set-up Row (WS): k1, (k1, p1) 16 times, p1. =34 sts.
Row 1 (RS): sl 1, (k below, p1) 16 times, p1.
Row 2 (WS): sl 1, (k below, p1) 16 times, p1.
Repeat rows 1-2 to desired length.
Bind off.
Finishing:
Block. Make fringe.
