Free Scarf Knitting Pattern

Skills Required/Techniques Used:
--Knit & purl, cast on & bind off
--Working in rounds on double pointed (dpn) or circular needles.

Materials: Sensations Soles & More self-striping sock yarn color 1811 262 yds (240 m) / 60 gr - 3 balls (MC)
Yarn of solid matching color in amount enough to make fringe (CC).
Needles: US #1 (2.25 mm) circular or dpn OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE

Gauge: 24 st x 38 rows = 4" x 4" (10 x 10 cm)

Notions: stitch marker, tapestry needle

Abbreviations:

k- knit

st, sts - stitch, stitches

pm - place marker

sm - slip marker

MC - main color

CC - contrast color

Pattern Notes:

Stockinette Stitch in rounds:
All rounds knit

Short overview of the pattern:

The scarf is knitted in rounds as a tube on circular or double pointed needles, then blocked flat. The ends are connected together with fringe.

Scarf:
Cast on 90 sts. Join and continue to work in rounds. Take care not to twist the sts. Place marker at the begining of the round, slip marker while working.
Knit until the tube is 60" (150 cm) long or to desired length. Bind off.

Finishing:
Weave in all yarn ends. Block the tube flat. Make fringe out of CC yarn. Connect the short edges with fringe.

Great scarf - how about casting on 84 stitches and folding it in half to make up. Only one seam to sew!
