Materials:
Red Heart (affiliate link) Super Saver 100% acrylic yarn worsted weight, color Light Blue, 333 m (364 yds)/198 g - 2 skeins. (A)
Red Heart (affiliate link) Super Saver 100% acrylic yarn worsted weight, color Light Yellow, 333 m (364 yds)/198 g - 1 skein. (B)
Red Heart (affiliate link) Super Saver 100% acrylic yarn worsted weight, color - Monet, 223 m (244 yds)/141 g - 1 skein. (C)

Needles: 10 (6.0 mm) OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE.

Gauge: 14 st x 28 rows = 4" x 4" (10 x 10 cm)

Pattern:

Garter Stitch
all rows - knit sts

Directions
Cast on 107 sts (including edge stitches) with yarn A. The first stitch should be slipped to the right needle and the last stitch purled.
Rows 1-16 rows: yarn A.
Rows 17-28: yarn B
Rows 29-36: yarn A
Rows 37-48: yarn C
Rows 49-56: yarn A
Repeat rows 17-56 5 times (200 rows)
Rows 217-228: yarn B
Rows 229-244: yarn A
Cast off.

Vertical Borders:
Pick up 124 sts (including edge stitches) along the vertical edges of the blanket with yarn A.
Knit garter stitch for 18 rows.
Cast off.

how do you fit that many stitches on the needle?

If you use a circular needle (29 - 40") the stitches will fit nicely.

you use circular needles to accommodate all the stitches, you knit back and forth the same as for straight needles.
