Easy Garter Stitch Hat

Free Hat Knitting Pattern

Size: any size

Materials: Tahki (affiliate link) Jackson Yarn - 100% wool, super bulky weight yarn, 131 yards / 100 grams / 100 gr, color red 0004 - 1 ball
Lion Brand (affiliate link) Fun Fur bulky yarn, 64 yards / 50 grams /100 gr, color red - small amount

Needles: US 10 1/2 (6.50 mm)

Gauge: 11 st x 20 rows =  4" x 4" (10 x 10 cm)

Garter Stitch:
all rows knit. In each row slip the 1st stitch.

Directions:

Cast on 25 sts. (the height of the hat). Work garter stitch (all rows knit) for about 19"-20" (48 cm - 50 cm). Try the hat around your head while working until desired width is achieved. Bind off.

Finishing

Sew the short sides to get a tube which fits your head.

Thread a length of yarn into a tapestry needle. Thread yarn along one of the edges of the hat, pull the ends and secure them.

If you can crochet, crochet a row of sc with Fun Fur yarn along the hat's rim.

If you cannot crochet, cut a piece of Fun Fur yarn, insert in a large tapestry needle and sew the yarn over the edge of the hat with the blanket stitch.
