Directions
The sweater is worked from the top to the bottom back and forth and in rounds without seams.
With yarn A cast on 47 (47, 47, 47, 49) sts and purl 1 row.
Divide stitches as follows: 1 edge st, 1 st (left front), 1 st (raglan line, place marker), 9 (9, 9, 9, 11) sts (left sleeve), 1 st (raglan line, place marker), 21 (21, 21, 21, 23) sts (back), 1 st (raglan line, place marker), 9 (9, 9, 9, 11) sts (right sleeve), 1 st (raglan line, place marker), 1 sts (right front), 1 edge st.
Work stockinette st for 47 (51, 55, 59, 67) rows increasing by 8 sts (double increase at the raglan sts) in each even row as follows: M1 (make 1 - increase), k1, M1 at the raglan st.
At the same time in order to shape the neckline increase by 1 st at the beginning and the end of the row (2 sts per row) in all even rows 6 (8, 10, 12, 18) times.
Divide for sleeves
Row 48 (52, 56, 60, 68): knit the left front sts, transfer left sleeve sts to a length of yarn, cast on 3 sts with single cast on (for an underarm), work back sts, transfer right sleeve sts to a length of yarn, cast on 3 sts with single cast on (for an underarm) and knit right front stitches, cast on 4 sts with single cast on (for a front closure) and continue to work in rounds. Knit left front sts. Place a marker, this will be the beginning of the round.
Bodice:
Work 37 (41, 45, 49, 57) rounds more in stockinette or to desired length. To make stripes, work 3 rounds in color A and 1 round in color B.
Work 10 more in 1x1 ribbing. Bind off.
Placket:
Left placket: with right side facing, pick up 27 (31, 35, 39, 47) sts, work 3 rows in 1x1 ribbing.
Row 4: rib 3 sts, *k2tog, yo, rib 6 sts repeat 3 (3, 4, 4, 5) times for button holes
Rows 5-7 ribbing. Bind off.
Right placket: pick up 27 (31, 35, 39, 47) sts, rib 7 rows, bind off.
Sew the short side of the placket to the bodice, behind the left placket.
Sleeve:
Sleeves are worked in rounds. Best to use dpn.
Transfer sleeve sts from the yarn to the needles and pick up 3 sts over the 3 underarm sts. Place a marker on the second underarm st, we'll make decreases before and after this st.
Work 20 rounds. Starting with round 21 make 1 st decrease in each odd round. In turn, make a decrease before the marked st, the next time make a decrease after the marked st.
To make a decrease before the marked st, ssk; to make a decrease after the marked st, k2tog.
Work 48 (52, 56, 60, 74) rounds in stockinette. Work another 15 rounds in 1x1 ribbing.
Bind off.
Collar:
With yarn A pick up sts on circular needles along the neckline.
Work stockinette st for 12 rounds. Bind off.
Thread yarn B in a tapestry needle and slip-stitch the collar in place.
Enjoy!
