Directions

First Block
Ch 20
Row 1: dc into the 3rd ch from the hook, dc 16, turn
Row 2: ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 2 dc, ch 11, skip 11 dc, 3 dc into the last 3 dc.
Rows 3-9: repeat row 2
Row 10: ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 2 dc, 11 dc into the ch-11, 3 dc.

Second Block
Turn your work by 90 degrees
Row 1: ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 16 dc along the side of the first square.
Row 2: ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 2 dc, ch 11, skip 11 dc, 3 dc into the last 3 dc.
Rows 3-9: repeat row 2
Row 10: ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 2 dc, 11 dc into the ch-11, 3 dc.

Continue to crochet 16 more blocks the same ways as the second block or to desired length.
Tie off.
