Separating zipper
Needles: circular US #7 (4.5 mm) OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE
Gauge for seed stitch: 13 sts x 24 rows = 4"x4" (10cm x 10cm)
Make 1 increase - I used the increase described by Elizabeth Zimmerman
Make a backward loop over the right-hand needle and in the next row purl as a regular stitch.

Directions
The jacket is worked from top to bottom, back and forth without seams.
Cast on 27 (27, 27, 28, 29) sts and purl one row (wrong side). Divide sts as follows and place
markers on raglan lines:
1st (selvedge) + 1st (front) + 1 st (raglan, place a marker) + 4 (4, 4, 4, 4) sts (sleeve) + 1st
(raglan, place a marker) + 11 (11, 11, 12, 13) sts (back) + 1st (raglan, place a marker) + 4 (4, 4, 4, 4) sts (sleeve) + 1 st (raglan, place a marker) + 1st (front) +1 st (selvedge). Work seed stitch pattern.

Back and Front Raglan Shaping
Work seed stitch pattern for 16 (20, 24, 24, 26) rows increasing by 8 sts (double increase at
the raglan sts) in each odd row as follows: M1, k1 (raglan st), M1 at the raglan st. Total 8 (10,
12, 12, 13) rows with increases.
For another 16 (16, 12, 16, 16) rows increase back and fronts at raglan lines in every 4th row.
Total 4 (4, 3, 4, 4) increases.
Sleeves Raglan Shaping
Work seed stitch pattern for 12 (12, 16, 14, 14) rows increasing at the sleeve side in each odd
row as follows: M1, k1 (raglan st), M1 at the raglan st. Total 6 (6, 8, 7, 7) increases.
For another 20 (24, 20, 26, 28) rows increase sleeves at raglan lines in every 4th row. Total 5
(6, 5, 7, 7) increases.
At the same time increase by 1 st at the beginning and the end of the row (2 sts per row) in
every odd row 3 (3, 3, 3, 3) times. Total 6 rows. At the end of row 6 cast on 4 (4, 4, 4, 5) sts to
finish shaping the neck. At the end of row 7 cast on 4 (4, 4, 4, 5) sts at the left front.
Stitch count before division for sleeves: 139 (151, 159, 168, 175).
Divide for sleeves
Row 33 (37, 37, 41, 43): work the left front sts, transfer the left sleeve sts to a length of yarn,
cast on 3 sts with single cast on for the underarm, work back sts, transfer right sleeve sts to a
length of yarn, cast on 3 sts with single cast on for the underarm and work right front stitches.
Continue to work bodice back and forth for 52 (58, 66, 80, 90) more rows or until desired
length. Work rib 1x1 for 10 rows.
Color sequence
Work yarns A, B, C, D for 21 (24, 26, 30, 33) rows each or in any other combination of stripes.
Bind off.
Sleeve
Sleeves are worked in rounds.
Transfer sleeve sts from the yarn to the needles and pick up 3 sts over the 3 underarm sts.
Place a marker at the beginning of the round.
Work 40 (52, 58, 64, 70) rounds of seed st or to desired length. Work 1x1 rib for 10 rounds.
Bind off.
Finishing
Collar
Pick up and knit sts along the neckline and work 6 rows of reverse stockinette st (with wrong
side of the jacket facing). Then work 8 rows of garter st. Bind off.
Install zipper.
