Free Doll Skirt Crochet Pattern
Materials: Aunt Lydia (affiliate link)'s 100% Mercerized Cotton fingering weight thread, Size 3, 150yd/138m, color - Blue - 1 ball.
Hook: C (2.75mm)
Gauge: 2 shells = 1 3/4" (4.5 cm)
Abbreviations:
ch = chain
st(s) = stitch(es)
sl st = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
V-stitch (V-st) - (1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc) into one stitch.
V-st in V-st - V-st into ch-1-space of the V-stitch of the prev. row
Shell - (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) into one stitch
Shell in shell - shell into the ch-1-space of the shell from the previous row.
Skirt
The skirt is worked top-down in the rounds.
Chain 60, join with sl st into circle, continue to crochet in rounds.
Round 1: ch 4 (counts 1 dc and 1 ch), insert hook into the 6th chain from the hook, 1 dc, *skip 1 ch, 1 dc in the next ch - repeat from * to the end of the round, join with slip st.
Round 2: ch 2 (counts as 1 sc), 1 sc in each of the 59 sts (in every ch 1 and dc), join with sl st .
Round 3: ch 3, skip 1 st, *V-st in the next st, skip 1 st, repeat from * to the end of the round, join with sl st.
Round 4: ch 3, *1 shell into ch-1 of the V-st, from * repeat to the end of the round,join with sl st.
Round 5: ch 3, *1 shell into shell - repeat from * to the end of the round, join with sl st.
Rounds 6-15: repeat round 5. Tie off and weave in the ends.
Belt
Crochet a chain about 16 inches long (40 cm).
Row 1: sc.
Cut thread and weave in the ends.
Insert the belt in the eyelets along the waist, put the skirt on the doll, pull the ends of the belt to fit the skirt around the waist of the doll, tie the ends.
