Elegant Summer Blouse for 18-inch Doll

Free Doll Top Crochet Pattern

Materials: Red Heart (affiliate link) Crochet Thread #10, 100% mercerized Cotton, 300 yards (274 meters) – 1 ball
4-5 plastic sew-on snaps

Hook: 1.75 mm OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE

Gauge: 11 V-sts x 16 rows = 4" x 4" (10 x 10 cm)

Pattern notes

Chain 3 at beginning of the row counts as a double crochet stitch.

Abbreviations:
Ch – chain
Dc – double crochet
ch-space – chain space
V-st = (dc, ch 1, dc) in indicated stitch or space.
V-st in V-st = V-st in chain-space of the V-st
W-st = (dc, ch, dc, ch, dc)
W-st in V-st = W-st in the ch-space of the indicated V-st
3-3 Shell - 3dc in one st, 3 dc in the next st

Blouse

The blouse is worked from the top down as one piece with buttons on the back.

Chain 52.
Row 1: dc in the 4th ch from the hook, dc in each of the next 2 ch , *ch 1, skip one ch, dc in the next ch - rep 21 times, dc in each of the remaining 4 ch, turn.
Row 2: ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), dc in each of the next 3 dc, *V-st in each of the ch-space – rep from * 21 times, dc in each of the 4 dc, turn.
Row 3: ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), dc in each of the next 3 dc, *W-st in V-st, V-st in each of the next 2 V-sts - rep from * 7 times, dc in each of the last 4 dc, turn.
Row 4: ch 3, dc in each of the 3 dc, *V-st in each V-st – rep from * 28 times, dc in each of the last 4 dc, turn.
Row 5: ch 3, dc in each of the next 3 dc, *V-st in each of the next 3 V-sts, W-st in next V-st - rep from * 7 times, dc in each of the last 4 dc, turn.
Row 6: ch 3, dc in each of the next 3 dc, *V-st in each V-st – rep from * 35 times, dc in each of the last 4 dc, turn.
Row 7: ch 3, dc in each of the 3 dc, * V-st in each of the next 2 V-sts, W-st in the next V-st - rep from * 11 times, V-st in the next 2 V-sts, dc in each of the last 4 dc, turn.
Row 8: ch 3, dc in each of the next 3 dc, *V-st in each V-st – rep from * 46 times, dc in each of the last 4 dc, turn.
Row 9: ch 3, dc in each of the next 3 dc, V-st in the next 6 V-sts, *sc in the first dc of next V-st, skip ch-space, 3-dc shell in the second dc of the same V-st, 3-dc shell in the first dc of the next V-st - rep from * 5 times, skip ch-space, sc in the second dc of the same V-st, V-st in each of the next 14 V-sts, *sc in the first dc of next V-st, skip ch, 3-dc shell in the second dc of the same V-st, 3-dc shell in the first dc of the next V-st - rep from * 5 times, skip ch-space, sc in the second dc of the same V-st, V-sts in each of the next 6 V-sts, dc in each of the last 4 dc, turn.

Row 11: ch 3, dc in each of the next 3 dc, V-sts in each of the next 6 V-sts, *dc in the first ch of the 7-chain space, ch 1, skip 1 ch -rep from * 3 times, dc in the last ch of the 7-chain-space, V-st in each of the next 14 V-sts, *dc in the first ch of the 7-chain space, ch 1, skip 1 ch - rep from * 3 times, dc in the last ch of the 7-chain-space, V-st in each of the next 6 V-sts, dc in each of the last 4 dc, turn.
Row 12: ch 3, dc in each of the next 3 dc, V-st in each of the next 6 V-sts, *V-st in the ch-space – rep from * 3 times, V-st in the next 14 V-sts, *V-st in the ch-space – rep from * 3 times, V-st in each of the next 6 V-sts, dc in each of the last 4 dc, turn.
Row 13: ch 3, dc in each of the next 3 dc, V-st in each of the next 32 V-sts, dc in each of the last 4 dc, turn.
Repeat row 13 five more times or to desired length.
The last row: ch 3, dc in each of the next 3 dc, *3-3 shell in 2 dc on the neighboring V-sts, slip ch-space, 1 sc in each of the next 2 dc of the neighboring V-sts - rep from * 16 times, dc in each of the last dc. Tie off. Cut thread.


Finishing

Weave in the ends of thread. Sew 4-5 plastic snaps on the back opening.
