Bluebonnet Sundress for 6-inch Doll

Free Doll Dress Crochet Pattern

Materials: DMC (affiliate link) Cebelia Cotton size 30 thread (100% cotton), 284 yards (260 meters)/50 gr, colors royal blue and white – you need small amounts of these threads
2 small buttons

Hook: 1.0 mm

Gauge: 9 dc = 1” (2.5 cm)

Abbreviations and special stitches:
ch - chain
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet
V-st - V-stitch = (dc, ch 1, dc) in the same specified stitch
V-st in V-st - V-stitch in the ch-1-space of the V-st from the previous row/round

Dress

The dress is worked top-down, first back and forth, then in the round.

With white thread, chain 32.

Row 1: ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), insert hook in the 5th chain, dc in each of the next 3 chains, V-st in the next ch, 1 dc in each of the next 6 chains, V-st in the next ch, dc in each of the next 8 chains, V-st in the next ch, 1 dc in each of the next 6 chains, V-st in the next ch, 1 dc in each of the last 4 chains. Tie off and cut white thread. Turn.

Row 2: Attach blue thread. Chain 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc in each of the next 4 dc, V-st in V-st, 1 dc in each of the next 8 dc, V-st in V-st, 1 dc in each of the next 10 dc, V-st in V-st, 1 dc in each of the next 8 dc, V-st in V-st, 1 dc in each of the next 5 dc.

Row 3: ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc in each of the next 5 dc, V-st in V-st, 1 dc in each of the next 10 dc, V-st in V-st, 1 dc in each of the next 12 dc, V-st in V-st, 1 dc in the next 10 dc, V-st in V-st, 1 dc in each of the next 6 dc.

Divide for bodice and sleeves:

Row 4: ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc in each of the next 6 dc, 1 dc in ch-1-space of the V-st, chain 3, skip the next 12 dc, 1 dc in ch-1-space of the next V-st, 1 dc in each of the next 14 dc, 1 dc in the ch-1-space of the next V-st, chain 3, skip the next 12 dc, 1 dc in the ch-1-space of the last V-st, 1 dc in each of the last 7 dc. = 38 dc. Turn.

Row 5 with white thread: ch 1, sc in each of the next 8 dc, 1 sc in each of the 3 chains, 1 sc in each of the next 16 dc, 1 sc in each of the 3 chains, 1 sc in each of the next 8 dc = 38 sc Turn.

Row 6: ch 1, 1 sc in each of the next 38 sc. Turn.

Row 7 with blue thread: ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc in the next sc, * V-st in the next sc, 1 dc in the next sc - repeat to last 2 sc, 1 dc in each of the last 2 sc. Turn.

Rows 8, 9, and 10: ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc in the next dc, * V-st in V-st, 1 dc in the next dc - repeat to last 2 dc, 1 dc in each of the last 2 dc.

In row 10 join in the round, for this work to the last 2 dc, make the first of the last dc, with a slip stitch connect it with the top of the first dc in the beginning of the row, make the last dc in the row and connect it with slip stitch to the second dc in the beginning of the row.

Rounds 1-4: ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), * V-st in V-st, 1 dc in the next dc - repeat to the end of the round, join with slip stitch.

Round 5 (switch to white thread): same as rounds 1-4.

Round 6: ch 3, *V-st in V-st, V-st in the next dc – repeat to the end of the round, join with slip stitch.

Round 7 (switch to blue thread): attach blue thread in the ch-1-space of the first V-st, ch 3, 2 dc in the same V-st, sc between the V-stitches, *3 dc in V-st, sc between V-stitches – repeat to the end of the round. Tie off. Cut thread.


Button band

Starting at the lower end of the left edge, attach white thread, make a row of sc up along the edge, turn, (ch 3, skip 3 sc, sc in each of the next 4 sc) repeat twice, sc to the end of the row. Tie off. Cut thread.

Finishing

Weave in thread ends, sew 2 buttons to the right edge.
