Short Overview of the Pattern:

The rectangular shawl is worked from short side to short side, it's started and finished with 3 rows of garter stitch, the narrow side borders consist of 1 edge and 2 border stitches which are always worked in garter stitch pattern. The main body of the shawl is worked in lace pattern. You can easily make the shawl wider, if need be by either increasing the number of stitches for the borders, or increasing the lace pattern repeats.
