Finished measurements: approx. 10” x 72” (25 cm x 180 cm)

Materials: Drops Brushed Alpaca Silk from Garnstudio 25 g/0.9 oz 140m/153yds, 77% Alpaca, 23% Silk, Colors: Chocolate (C1) and Almond (C2) 1 ball each. Note on yarn substitution: although the yarn, used for this scarf marked as aran weight, if using other yarn, choose lace or fingering weight yarn.

Needles: circular 60” long US #8 (5.00 mm) OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE

Gauge: 10 sts x 18 rows = 4" x 4" (10 cm x 10 cm)

Abbreviations:
k - knit
p - purl
yo - yarn over
sl – slip stitch
C1- color 1
C2 – color 2
RS – right side
WS – wrong side

Pattern Notes:

Garter Stitch: all rows knit

Main Pattern:

Multiple of 10 +6
2 colors

In C1 cast on
Row 1(RS): C1 knit
Row 2: C1 knit
Row 3: C2 k6, *yo, k1, yo twice, K1, yo 3 times, k1, yo 2 times, k1, yo, k6 – repeat from *
Row 4: C2 knit dropping all yarn overs.
Rows 5-6: C1 knit
Row 7: C2 k1, *yo, k1, yo twice, K1, yo 3 times, k1, yo 2 times, k1, yo, k6 – repeat from *, end last k1 instead of k6.
Row 8: C2 knit dropping all yarn overs.

The selvedge/edge stitches are worked as follows: slip the first stitch and purl the last one.

Scarf

Using C1 loosely (important!) cast on 208 sts: 2 edge sts and 206 for the pattern. Work 2 foundation rows in garter stitch.

Rows 1-2 (C1): sl1, knit to the last st, p1.

Row 3 (C2): sl1, k6, *yo, k1, yo twice, k1, yo 3 times, k1, yo 2 times, k1, yo, k6 – repeat from * to the last st, p1

Row 4 (C2): sl 1, knit dropping all yarn overs, purl the last st.

Rows 5-6 (C1): sl1, knit to the last st, p1.

Row 7 (C2): sl1, *yo, k1, yo twice, k1, yo 3 times, k1, yo 2 times, k1, yo, k6 – repeat from * to last 5 sts, yo, k1, yo twice, k1, yo 3 times, k1, yo 2 times, k1, yo, p1

Row 8 (C2): sl1, knit dropping all yarn overs, purl the last st.

Repeat rows 1-8 four more times or to desired width of the scarf.

The last 4 rows in C1 knit.

Bind off.

Finishing:

Weave in all yarn ends. Block.
