How to Tie a Slip Knot

A slip knot is the first step in any crochet project. This is just one of the ways to tie one. Other methods might be faster, but I thought this one was the most straightforward and simple to learn. First, you take the end of the yarn and bring it behind the rest of the yarn, forming a loop. Then you insert the hook into the loop from the front, hook the yarn and draw it through the loop. Finally, use your fingers to tighten the slip knot.
