Directions
Chain 12, join with sl st to form a ring.
Row 1: ch 7, 2 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 tr, ch 2, 1 tr, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 2 sc (all sts into the ring), ch 4, 1 dc into the ring, turn.
Row 2: ch 3, 1 dc into ch 4, ch7, 1 sc into ch 4, ch 7, 1 sc into ch 2, ch 5, 1 sc into ch 2, ch 7, 1 sc into ch 7 (beginning of row 1), ch 7, 2 dc into same ch 7, turn.
Row 3: ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc over 1 dc, ch 7, 1 sc into ch 7, ch 7, 1 sc into next ch 7, ch 7, [2 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 tr, ch 2, 1 tr, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 2 sc] into ch 5, ch 7, 1 sc into ch 7, ch 7, 1 sc into next ch 7, ch 7, 2 dc over 2 dc of the previous row, turn.

Rows 6-57: Repeat rows 4-5, increasing the repeats of [ch 7, 1 sc] by 1 on either side of the center of the shawl in every row. For example, in row 6 repeat 5 times on each side, in row 7 repeat 6 times on each side, in row 8 repeat 7 times on each side, etc. To change the size of the shawl, increase or decrease the number of rows.

Row 2: ch 3, *[3 dc, ch 4, 3 dc] into ch 4, ch 3, repeat from * to the end of the row. At the corner work ch 3, [3 dc, ch 4, 3 dc] into ch 4, ch 3.
Row 3: ch 3, *[3 dc, ch 4, 3 dc] into ch 4, ch 3, repeat from * to the end of the row. At the corner work: ch 3, 1 dc into ch 3, ch 3, [3 dc, ch 4, 3 dc] into ch 4, ch 3, 1 dc into ch 3, ch 3.
