Two-Yarn Infinity Scarf or Cowl

Free Crochet Cowl Pattern

Finished size: 24" (60 cm) wide (when folded in half, flat), and 7" (18 cm) high.

Materials:
Elann (affiliate link).com Peruvian Highland Wool worsted weight yarn [100% Wool; 109 yd /100 m per 50g skein]; color: Black; 3 skeins (A)
Poems by Wisdom (affiliate link) Yarns worsted weight yarn [100% wool; 109 yd/100 m per 50g skein]; color Canyon Flight 576; 2 skeins (B)

Hook: 5.0 mm

Gauge is not important

Directions:

The cowl is worked sideways, in rounds, using two yarns.

Two-Tone V-Stitch in rounds
Multiple of 3

V-stitch (V-st) - 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc into the same st or the same ch-1-space.

With yarn A chain 230, join and continue to work in rounds.
Row 1 (yarn A): [ch 3, 1 dc] in the 2nd st (counts as V-st), *skip 2 ch, V-st into next ch*,
repeat 29 more times, 10 sc, 35 V-sts, 10 sc, 4 V-sts,  join with sl st to the ch 3.
Round 2: (yarn B): [ch 3, 1 dc] in the 1st V-st (counts as V-st), *V-st into the ch-1-sp of the previous row V-st*, repeat 29 more times, 10 sc, 35 V-sts, 10 sc, 4 V-sts,  join with sl st to the ch 3.
Round 3: (yarn A): [ch 3, 1 dc] in the 1st V-st (counts as V-st), *V-st into the ch-1-sp of the previous row V-st*, repeat 29 more times, 10 front post dc (work the post sts around the sc of the row 1 to cover the sts of the second row), 35 V-sts, 10 front post dc, 4 V-sts, join with sl st to the ch 3.
Repeat rounds 2 and 3 seven more times or to desired width.

Finishing

Work 1 row of sc along both edges of the cowl. While working sc along the second edge, fold the sections with post stitches in half with right side facing and insert the hook through both edges of the post st sections to make a tube.

I think this scarf is quite beautiful and would love to make my own, but I got lost in the instructions where it said 10 FPDC (where does this start in the pattern? And I didn't understand what you meant by folding the area forward and working sc over FPDC to hide these sts. Please help me with this. I would be forever greatful.
