Free Doll Hat Crochet Pattern
The hat is worked top down, in rounds, without any seams. The brim is shaped with millinery wire.
Materials:
Aunt Lydia (affiliate link)'s 100% Mercerized Cotton, Size 10, 350 yd/300 m, color - Natural - 1 ball.
Millinery (or jewelery) wire 16 gauge - " ( cm).
Pliers
Hook: B (2.25 mm) OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE
Gauge: 14 dc = 2" (5 cm)

Hat
Chain 4, join with sl st to make ring.
Rnd 1: ch 2 (counts as sc), 11 sc into the ring, sl st to ch 2.
Rnd 2: ch 2 (counts as dc), 23 dc, sl st to ch 2.
Rnd 3: ch 5 (counts as 1 dc and ch 3), *1 dc, skip 1 st, ch 3, repeat from * to the end of the round, sl st to ch 5.
Rnd 4: ch 2 (counts as dc), *3 dc in ch 3, 1 dc in 1 dc, repeat from * to the end of the round, sl st to ch 2.
Rnd 5: ch 4 (counts as 1 dc and ch 2), *1 dc, skip 1 st, ch 2, repeat from * to the end of the round, sl st to ch 4.

While crocheting around the wire, stop when you get to the last 2 inches (5 cm), adjust the wire. Then the secure the ends of the wire with the pliers, twisting and flattening the ends, and end the round, working sc over the connection. Tie off.
