Broadway Coat with Scarf Collar and Matching Beret (for 14" dolls)

Difficulty level: *** Intermediate

Free Doll Coat and Hat Knitting Patterns

When the weather gets wintry, a sophisticated doll needs something that is both stylish and warm. The knee-length coat features an attached scarf. The A-line shape gives it an elegant look. The beret-style hat completes the ensemble. This is the perfect outfit for a cold night out on the town.

The coat is knitted as one piece, without seams. The coat is worked top-down, with raglan sleeves.

I think this design looks best in a solid-color yarn.

Raglan increases: Increase for raglan by making 1 st (m1) on each side of marked stitch in every right side (RS) row.

Button Bands (bb) are worked in seed stitch on 5 stitches in the beginning and in the end of each row.

Coat

The coat is worked top-down back-and-forth with raglan sleeves and button band on the front. The sleeves are worked on dpn in the round. The scarf collar is worked first separately, then it’s attached to the neckline as-you-go. Alternatively, you can first work the scarf and then sew the middle part of it to the neckline.

Using 2.75mm/US #2 circular needles, CO 35 sts. Work 2 rows in garter stitch. Check the sts, aand place stitch markers:
