Free Doll Dress Crochet Pattern
These bright summer dresses feature a chevron motif on the skirt. I think it looks best if you use 2 contrasting colors. The chevrons really stand out that way. However, you can use similar colors, one color or a color-changing yarn, for different looks.
This dress will fit 14.5” dolls, such as American Girl Wellie Wishers and Hearts4Hearts. A back opening lets you put it on and take it off quickly.
Skills Required/Technique Used: Chain, double crochet
Materials:
Crochet Thread #10, 2 colors 1 ball each. Choose colors to your taste, change the color sequence as you like – every row/round, or every 2 rows/rounds, as on our dresses.
Hook: 1.5 mm
Notions: 4 sew-on snaps size 2/0; sewing needle and thread matching the crochet thread to attach the snaps, small embellishments to your taste (optional). Stitch markers might be helpful.
Gauge: 14 dc x 8 rows = 2” x 2” (5 cm x 5 cm).
Abbreviations:
ch – chain

Dress
The dress is worked top-down as one piece, first back-and-forth, then joined in the round. 2 dc in the beginning of the row and 2 dc in the end of the row form a button band. Feel free to choose your own color combination and change the color sequence as you like.
