Materials: Aunt Lydia (affiliate link)'s Classic Crochet Thread size #10 (100% mercerized cotton), colors: goldenrod – 1 ball

Hook: 1.75 mm OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE.

Gauge: 12 dc x 6 rows = 2" x 2" (5 cm x 5 cm)

Notions:
- 3-4 small buttons (optional)
- Tapestry needle to weave in yarn ends
- Stitch marker (optional) - for your convenience place the marker on the right side (RS) of the working piece.
- Sewing needle and thread of matching color to attach buttons if you use ones

Short Overview of the Pattern:

The cardi is worked top down as one piece. The yoke is worked back and forth, with 4 raglan lines and increases on these lines shaped by shells. The button bands are formed by 3 dc in the beginning and end of each row. After the yoke is done, the back, 2 fronts and 2 sleeves are worked separately, then sewn by side lines.

Left Sleeve is worked between the first and the second shells.

Holding the working piece right side facing, attach thread to the first dc of the second group of dcs in the shell (right after the ch-2-space of the shell).

Right Front is worked between the forth shell and the right bb.

Holding the working piece right side facing, attach thread to the ch-2-space of the forth shell).

Finishing:

Weave in all yarn ends. Block the working piece. if needed. Fold the piece in half, right sides inside, align the edges of the sleeves and sides. Sew the side seams together . Work a row of hdc along the hem. (photo7) Sew on the buttons on the left bb, if needed.
