Hi,

I have few questions for the author of this pattern. First, thank you for posting it, it is great. However, I am a beginner and I would like to clarify few things, since I don't know how to start.

After casting 23 stitches (I am doing the size 4), when am I going to make it into a closed loop / round?
I am also very confused by the sentence "Work stockinette st pattern for 38 (42, 46, 50, 54) rows increasing by 8 sts (double increase at the raglan sts) in each odd row as follows: M1, k1, M1 at the raglan st." What does M1 and k1 mean? Can you please write one round step-by-step for me?
