most genenerally you will do the first instruction, and then repeat it the number of times listed. so the actual pattern that is repeated 3 times will actually be done 4 times. the pattern repeated 16 times will actually be done 17 times. if that is the case then the diagram is correct. i will also rewrite the confusing patterns thanks to a coworker, she rewrites them in a spreadsheet and makes boxes to check off for the different times of pattern repeats hope this helps
