I usually use to instructions given. If I want to do a baby one; I count number of stitches in a repeat then. Multiple that number by the number of times you want to repeat. Ex, 11 stitches makes the pattern x by 9 =99 + 2. (This (2). I use one per 100 stitches. Total 101. Let me know if this works for you. If, we’ll try again.
