Am interested in making this shawl. I see reference to an updated pattern and am wondering if that is the pattern I am looking at on this web site?
Thank you

My daughter had the same problem and when I looked at what she had done, I realized she had dropped all the yo's-you can't drop the yo's, you need them to work them to have the proper increases in the shawl. Is it possible that is what you have done?

The chart seems to show knit 5 but I have cast on 11.

The chart is for one half of the shawl.

The numbers do add up if you understand that the salve stitches are NOT included in the pattern and row 2 is just a purl row. If you are having difficulty from row 2 on, this may not be the pattern for you. The pattern does tell you to cast off, you appear to be blaming the designer for your limited skills at reading a pattern, that's not fair. I recently made this for an outdoor wedding I am attending in May and it is gorgeous.

I am still looking for an answer to Rita's July 26, 2014 question. What kind of yarn am I supposed to use...worsted weight or sock weight??

This shawl is first described to use worsted weight yarn, yet the pattern requires sock yarn! Which should it be?

The yarn is referenced as worsted weight on the all free knitting site, that is there mistake, which shouldn't matter because you always use the materials called for in the actual pattern, never use the referenced yarn. The very first line of the pattern indicates it is sock yarn.

I would like to print off the chart, but can only get half of it to print...do you have this in a PDF that can be printed? Thank you.

I have followed the pattern up to the end ( row 71) & I used 5mm size needle. However, the product only measure about 11 inches long and 25" wide ( the widest part). Am I missing something? Please advise, thanks!

I can't get past row 1 because the numbers don't add up even for a half row. I am sure it would be a lovely pattern if all details were entered into the pattern. Another clue to the faulty pattern is the fact it doesn't even say to cast off at the end!

I love this shawl! I have been knitting
for years.
However, my neighbor, who is a better
than average knitter, and I are unable
to follow the pattern.
We can follow rows 1-16, but do not understand how to procede. I understand to increase the four stitches, but do not understand how to incorporate the lace diamond pattern into the design.
I do not understand about the other increases and how to make the stitch count correct.
Can you possibly help me?
I have tried and tried to work this out.
Thanks for any help that you can give.
