Free Doll Shoes Knitting Pattern
This cute knitted outfit consists of a sweater, vest, skirt, tights, hat and shoes to change a doll into one of Santa's elves. It's a great decoration for around the house or on your Christmas tree and, of course, a perfect toy.
This outfit will fit a 14" doll from the Hearts for Hearts Girls series
Skills Required/Techniques Used:
-Knit & purl, cast on & bind off
-Decreasing: knit 2 together (k2tog), slip-slip-knit (ssk)
-Working in the round on double pointed needles
Materials: Knit Picks (affiliate link) Palette fingering weight yarn, 231 yards (211 meters) / 50gr, colors: 1982 Grass, 4932 Serrano and 9437 white one ball each for the whole outfit.
Notions: yarn needle, stitch marker, 4 small red cotton pom-poms.
Needles: 5 dpn US #2 (2.75mm) 5" long
Gauge 20 sts x 30 rows = 4" x 4" (10 cm x 10 cm)
Abbreviations:
dpn – double pointed needles
K – knit
P – purl
St, sts – stitch, stitches
co – cast on
RS – right side
WS – wrong side
Pattern Notes
Stockinette in rounds: All rounds knit
Stockinette in rows:
Row 1 (RS): knit
Row 2: purl
Repeat rows 1-2.
The selvedge/edge stitches : knit the first stitch knitwise and purl the last one.
Elf shoes
The shoes are worked on dpn, first back and forth, then in the round.
With green yarn, cast on 21 st.
Row 1 (RS): k20, p1.
Row 2 (WS): k1, p20. Repeat rows 1-2 four more times.
Row 11/ round 1: knit all sts, distribute evenly on dpn, join into round and continue to work in rounds, mark the beginning of the round.
Rounds 12-20: knit
Rounds 21-25: ssk, knit to the last 2 sts, k2tog.
Cut yarn, leaving a 4" (10 cm) tail. Pull through remaining sts and secure.
Finishing
Cut 3 pieces of red yarn 10" long. Make a braid. Sew small red pom-poms to the ends of the braid.
Make the second braid in the same way.
Put booties on the doll's feet and tie the braids with pom-poms around the ankles.
